I am about to demolish the house and build multiple units in Blackburn.
After the demolition i need a plumber to put a cap on sewer pipe.
Do i need PIC number for demolition from Yarra Valley water?
The plumber is saying he cannot issue a certificate without PIC number? Do i need to stop the demolition before PIC number is issued for demolition? Or can i go ahead with demolition and once the PIC number is issued then ask plumber to put a cap on sewer?
I am yet to get a building permit (It is in process). Do i need this plumbing certificate for building permit?

    Thanks

Don't know why you would need a PIC number for demo, nor why the plumber would need to give you a certificate for a cap. PIC is a consent to connect. Just let the demo guys fill the boundary trap with debris like every other demo guy does - no cap required!

No PIC or certificate required to get building permit.

Make sure you allow plenty of time to get your PIC or the plumber won't be able to book any drain inspections. You will be with Yarra Valley Water but I applied to Greater Western Water for a PIC which should have taken max of 2 weeks but took 6 months with a LOT of calls and emails in between.
