    Hi all,

Anyone has any experience with insuring a SDA property? Would insurer reject the property / void the insurance if they know it is a SDA property?

They must know its a SDA property. They can refuse a claim if you dont tell them anything they should need to know. Many general insurers give away their policy limits eg Its HOME insurance. The policy continually refers to your home.... Use a broker. Its a bit like owning a motel and living there. No insurer will accept the view its your home and its covered.

I would look into using a broker for this.

How did you go with this? Also keen to get understanding of what insurers available. Seems as though they consider SDA a boarding house.

Hi, it would be hard, maybe impossible, to find general insurers who would do this. Contact CoverWise REI. they can usually help with this stuff.

We previously used Austbrokers though are using Lockmor ( Dean Locke ) for our present one .

think it’s around 3600 , but build cost was a bit more than standard
